The General Investigation Section currently consists of 3 members - one Sergeant and 2 Constables. They are responsible for investigating all major crimes such as: break and enters, fraud, assaults, homicides, and thefts. GIS also works closely with Family and Community Services investigating sexual assaults and child abuse cases. The members are currently on several committees some of which are: Sexual Assault Team, CISNB-Criminal Intelligence Service New Brunswick, Kennebecasis Valley Crime Stoppers, CART- Child at Risk Team, and the Domestic Violence Committee. All of these committees work in partnership with other police services, the provincial government and the private sector to ensure that proper investigative techniques are used and to exchange information if applicable.
