The Rothesay Regional Joint Board of Police Commissioners helps oversee the
administrative direction and organization of the force to help maintain a
competent and reliable police service.
The Board is comprised of 10 members, 8 of whom are appointed by the Mayor
of their respective Town Councils. One member is appointed by the Department
of Public Safety and the Chief of Police is appointed as an ex-officio member
of the Board.

The Rothesay Regional Joint Board of Police Commissioners meets on the fourth
Wednesday of every month. The open session for the public begins at approximately
6 pm, with July and August as the exception. Citizens are encouraged to participate
with their Police Service by attending these meetings. The meetings are currently
held at the Rothesay Regional Police Force headquarters - 3 Landing Court,
Quispamsis.
A word from the chairman
Welcome to the Rothesay Regional Police Force website. Our intent is to provide
a convenient way for you get useful information about the Force and its operations.
The Rothesay Regional Police Force is governed by a Joint Board of Police Commissioners.
The Board is made up of four members representing the Town of Rothesay and
four representing the Town of Quispamsis. One of the four from each town is
an elected council member. In addition, the Province of New Brunswick appoints
one member who resides in the region. The Chief of Police sits as an ex-offico
member of the Board.
The Board has the overall responsibility for ensuring that the police force
fulfills its obligations. It has the complete and final responsibility for
the policies and direction of the Force. The Board acts as the employer of
the Force. The Chief of Police is responsible for the day-to-day operation
of the Force. The Chief ensures that the Force operates within the Police
Act and the policies established by the Board.
The Board's vision is that the Rothesay Regional Police Force be recognized
by its stakeholders and Canadian law enforcement professional as one of the
best police forces in Canada. This is done through an emphasis on strategic
leadership and focus on vision and long-term goals.
